We love green mangoes and its partner, bagoong alamang or shrimp paste.
I figured, there must be a way to make a healthier alternative to the spicy/salty/sweet bagoong alamang. I searched high and low and I saw a recipe for Vegetarian Bagoong, mostly made with plant-based ingredients.
I needed to taste how this will be with green mangoes so I sent sms to my eldest child to buy some green mangoes on her way home, which she did.
She had two pieces of the Indian mangoes and she says the Vegetarian Bagoong I made tastes like the shrimp paste we buy from the supermarket. I just need to cut one of the main ingredients into much more smaller pieces than what I did.
As with the Homemade Cookie Butter, I will be self-serving and not share the recipe for now because I plan to make more of these and sell at next week’s university week at the children’s school.
I hope people will buy from me, haha.
