Have you read the label of a small cup of Yogurt Fruit Cup?

Here is a sample for an 8 fl oz nonfat yogurt with fruit:

There are 230 calories in 1 cup of Fruit Yogurt (Nonfat).
Calorie breakdown: 2% fat, 81% carbs, 17% protein. Source.

What about 8 fl oz plain nonfat yogurt :

There are 127 calories in 1 8 ounce container of Nonfat Plain Yogurt.
Calorie breakdown: 3% fat, 56% carbs, 41% protein. Source.

We used to love buying those yogurt fruit cups until I realized that buying these in individual cups is getting more expensive, never mind if I buy 8 cups and pay for only 7 cups. The calories too is something that made me stop and ponder if it is possible to have these Yogurt Fruit cups in a healthier manner and with less to pay.

Solution: DIY Yogurt Fruit Cups

The plain yogurt and the fresh fruits in these 100g cups are just enough for a serving. The children can have these with them to school or as something to tide them over in the afternoon till dinner is served.

I buy a pint of yogurt for the Yogurt Fruit cups and divide in small containers. I just add whatever fresh fruits we have at home. So easy and convenient! 🙂
