Summer Day Lunch

March 25th, 2015

Summer day lunches should be light, filling and refreshing. Nature’s bounty really knows when to give us what we need and during summer, we get a lot of fresh summer fruits that do not just feel good on the palate but give us the nutrients that we need.

This summer day lunch is perfect because one does not need to stay too long in the kitchen to prepare.

Summer Day lunch

1. Pan fried pork steak marinated in a little light soy sauce and sprinkled with black pepper and paprika.
2. Fried egg in little oil.
3. Mango-cucumber-Apple salad with lemon juice. This refreshes the palate and removes the greasy after-taste feeling from every bite of the pork steak and egg.
4. Pineapple/banana smoothie

The children loved the combination though they ate their share with a cup of rice.
