At the start of the year, we made it a point to drink fresh fruit juices on a daily basis. Here is a photo of watermelon juice posted in the Facebook page.

Below is a recipe for fruit blend detox, taught by Ms Blecenda Varona of NeedHealth for The Maya Kitchen Healthy Diet session held last Friday, January 27, 2012.

Fruit Detox

FRUIT BLEND DETOX
2 cups watermelon with seeds and inner skin (yellowgreen skin)
1 cup papaya (with seeds-optional)
1 cup banana, sliced
 (ice chips can also be added
INSTRUCTION:
  • Use a BLENDER. Blend the watermelon first with seeds and inner skin until it becomes liquid. Then add papaya and banana. For kids to enjoy, ice chips can be added.

Watermelon and Papaya Juice

  • Drink within 5 minutes.
  • This fruit blend contains no sugar and water.
  • NOTE: You can have a wide variety of combinations. Simply mix sour fruits to sour and sweet fruits to sweet.
  • Good for one person.
